Robert F Kennedy running for president as a Dem

Wow, I read the New Yorker interview and come away with the opposite impression of RFK Jr.

I’m trying to unite the country, David. I’m not going to do what you do, which is to pick out people and say that they’re evil, they should be cancelled, or whatever. I’m a Democrat. I know what my values are. I’ve always spoken to Republicans my entire life.

Remember when Biden said he was going to unite the country?

Remember how he’s done a bangin’ job but people, easily led by the corporate conservative media, have decided otherwise? What’s Biden done that’s so bad? Bet you can’t answer without regurgitating right wing talking points fed directly to you, right winger.

Oh He’S dIvIdEd ThE cOuNtRy! How? Has he demonized the other political party? Stoked violence? Come out with crazy policies meant to appeal only to a tiny portion of society? Or has he generally done what he was elected by a majority of US residents to do?

Meanwhile you’ve got one or two dedicated Republican - whoops I mean “independent” - pps on this thread trying to say famous antivaxxer and crazy person RFK Jr is going to save them? lol.

You’re a Republican. If you can’t hold your nose and vote for Trump a third time, you’ll for sure vote for the weirdest garbage.

Responses like this is why I’m not a registered democrat. I’m an independent who voted for Biden last election. And shocker….I could even change my mind before the election depending on how the debates go…oh wait…

But you do you smarty pants.

Heh are you serious? What in the world are you going to hear in the debates - and between who - that could make you change your mind at this point? Like who is still in the running for your vote?

Not the op, but I wish there were debates. I need to see Biden in an unscripted situation reacting to an answer from someone or anyone. If he’s going to fend off attacks from the R’s and the RFK’s of the world, he needs to engage and show he still has whatever fastball he has left. If he’s successful, people like RFK go away. If he’s not, the RFK’s fill the empty space however they want.

I don't even know where to start with this. It's so bafflingly naive (or trolly).

He comes across as a man who doesn't know how to do his homework.

He comes across as a guy who's been so insulated by wealth and privilege and a fancy name that he's never had to work for anything. He can just spout off idiocies and people will go along with it. He's got all the confidence in the world of a mediocre rich guy who did nothing to earn his station.

You're not "independent." You have not principles.

Sure I am. The candidate matters; not the party.

Sadly, the parties keep letting me down with the garbage they’ve put in front of the people to chose the leader of our country. Open up your primaries and maybe we’d see some better options. Sure, the wacko’s in each party will pull candidates to each fringe, but at least people like me (and we are growing) could at least start to make a dent in the process.

And he has. The basket of deplorables are not redeemable. If you feel like he has been divisive, then you are the problem. He has reached across the aisle, he has provided resources and jobs evenly across the country, he hasn't held up emergency funds for disasters as if a bribe or supplication are in order, and his words have been chosen carefully. He has implored traditional republicans to join, negotiate and be a part of moving the country forward.

Ok, so at the end of the day, you will have two options, Biden or Trump. Pick one. They aren't the same.

While he certainly has led a privileged existence and that has affected him negatively I also think he reeks of one with a brain addled by extensive drug use in his youth. I say that as a D who might otherwise have supported a Kennedy candidate, but this guy, he's a mess.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. press dinner explodes in war of words and farting

https://pagesix.com/2023/07/12/rfk-jr-press-dinner-explodes-in-war-of-words-and-farts/

Camelot it ain’t.

Page Six regrets to report that a press dinner to boost Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign descended into a foul bout of screaming and polemic farting Tuesday night.

The White House hopeful attended the affair at Tony’s on the Upper East Side, no doubt hoping to impress on the ladies and gentlemen of the Fourth Estate his worthiness to sit at the very same Oval Office desk once occupied by his late uncle.

But a shouting match over climate change broke out between two boisterous old men, sending the evening down an extremely unfortunate path.
