Do you know of any camps in or near Springfield? I slug from Springfield and I'm not finding a lot of options. What I found so far:
Baroody Camps at St Bernadette https://events.r20.constantcontact.com/register/eventReg?oeidk=a07e8vfwjn5ee7c657f&oseq=&c=&ch= Fairfax County Camps, Audrey Moore |
South Run -- similar to Audrey Moore FCPR. Congo camp is in falls church, but they have a bus pick up somewhere near springfield.
Congressional picks up at the Whole Foods in Springfield--pick up at 7:35 and drop off at 5:25, I believe. My kids ride in that cluster, but get on/off at the DMV in Franconia. When you consider that you just pay for transportation, but you don't pay for before/aftercare, and they provide all snacks and lunch, I find Congressional to be a pretty good deal (in the realm of the more expensive camps). We've also had good experiences with Baroody, though at Alexandria Country Day. We haven't been to St. B's.
Definitely check out the camps at Hidden Pond Nature Center ... they are fantastic. You can check their website and they also have a separate page (usually) in the ParkTakes catalogue or online. Fairfax camps at Audrey Moore and Lee Rec are also pretty conveniently located. Burgundy Farm (down close to Telegraph Road) also has full day summer camp, but pretty expensive.

OP here. Found these camps in my search. My children are too young to attend but I thought I'll share.

Look up Fairfax County Parktakes. Tons and tons of camps listed.
