| We have three. I'm getting the impression here that's unusual. Didn't get in anywhere else in the lottery so need to decide between them. This is for kindergarten. |
| Enjoy! What are your choices? |
| Where school closures have happened it's relatively common. E.g., those within the former Clark boundary in Petworth. |
| We're IB for Thomson and Francis-Stevens. |
Interesting. OP here, we need to decide between Langley, Garrison and Seaton. Only Langley is conveniently located. Garrison seems more popular but it's not walking distance so would not really be a "neighborhood" school for us. Likewise Seaton (minus the popularity). |
We are also. |
Langley is our IB school too. I do not know much about Garrison and Seaton. We toured Langley. They have a great principal (she has great reputation at DCPS) and the facility is nice. The classrooms are not very diverse though but I think it will slowly start to change over the years since more and more Bloomingdale families are considering it. |
| IB for Langley and Walker Jones |
OP here. Unfortunately while many Bloomingdale families seem to consider it, our experience over the past few years has been that not many actually take the chance and go there. I don't really see how this will change much this year. |
I understand. I live in the neighborhood. People are just afraid to make the first move (us included). THe community should seriously come together and help make this a better neighborhood school option for all of us. I would say Langley has good potential though. |
| We are IB for three also. Garrison, Tubman, HD Cooke |
| Many downtown/mid city families are in bounds for multiple schools. |
| All of you must have some awesome WL numbers and have gotten into at least one of them. It must be nice to have more options from the get-go. |
| IB for Raymond and Powell (I would have been in-bounds for Clark before it closed). |
For those of us who are beyond PS and PK we have a right to attend any of our 2 or 3 options. They aren't thrilling choices, but it is nice all the same. |
