I am having a scheduled C-section in March, and my regular doctor with Reiter Hill is unavailable, so I need to pick a new doctor. Can anyone recommend Dr. Hill, Dr. Abraham, or Dr. Muangman? |
They are really different personalities. Dr. Hill's really jolly and some say a little weird. He has everyone take a picture with him with their thumbs up after the delivery. Dr. Abraham is no-nonsense and I don't remember Dr. Muangman among the cast of thousands. I WILL tell you that if you can get Dr. Johnson, Dr. Jackson, or Dr. Loveland, you'll be happy. They are all lovely doctors and nice women. |
I had a c-section with Dr. Muangman last March. I was scheduled with Dr. Loveland and my baby came early. Dr. Muangman was wonderful. She has a great bedside manner, did the surgery well, and was really nice in all my follow-up appts. I would put her right up there with Dr.Loveland, which is saying a lot! |
Dr. Muangman hands down. She has handled my care through both an ectopic pregnancy and a delivery...she is great.
good luck! |
Dr. Hill probably has the most technical experience and is older but I wasn't crazy about his bedside manner the 2 times I saw him. Abraham seemed ok the few times I saw her. (one was pre-pregnancy). Muangman by far has the best bedside manner. (she has 2 kids herself and was pregnant at the same time as me though so it may have been part of it.)
For the delivery itself, I think I would choose either the bedside manner or the experience. You'd be fine with all 3 though. |
wait, I just posted and I just remembered Abraham. Do NOT choose her! She is the one who couldn't find my baby's heartbeat at 11 weeks and then blamed it on my anatomy, which turned out to be b.s. when I asked other doctors at subsequent appointments.
I was confusing her with Dr. McPherson, who is fine. Reiter and Hill has like 20 doctors now so it's confusing!!!!!!!!! |
I had my scheduled C-section with Dr. Hill. I picked him b/c I wanted someone with a lot of experience surgically. He was also very nice and never made me feel dumb when I asked silly questions. My only gripe was that I think he's so busy, he would forget things about me from visit to visit but I know he has a lot of patients so it didn't bother me too much.
I saw Dr. Muangman for a couple of my visits when Dr. Hill was unavailable, and I thought she was wonderful as PP's have said-- very warm and caring. She also did my friend's C-section and she really liked her as well. |
Dr. Hill has a tremendous amount of experience... and I actually liked his bed side manner (although I delivered vaginally).
I really liked Dr. Maungman at my appointments, and while I didn't have her, I remember the woman who gave my Sibley class commented that although she was young (this was almonst 5 years ago) she was really impressed with what she saw of Dr. Maungman in a recent C-Section. Dr. Abraham delivered my first son, and did a terrific job through a very long and difficult labor, so I have nothing but nice things to say about her. |
Couldn't agree more! They are great. I love Dr. Johnson--she delivered my son and she was amazing and wonderful. |
I know you are having a C-section, but Dr. Muangman deliverd my son vaginally May 2006. I had only met her once and really liked her for the delivery. She stayed with me pushing for 45 minutes with no problems. I liked that she has 2 kids and is in tune to making decisions as a mom and younger woman. I went back to her for a yearly appt. and she noticed a skin condition that I would not have picked up on. My husband thought she was too young at delivery, but when Dr. Reiter later came by my room and bragged that he had been up for 24 hours delivering 6 babies and made some joke to my husband, I was so happy I had her and disgusted with him. Best of Luck! |
Dr. Muangman delivered my baby, and I really, really liked her. She did a great job, explained everything and got a second opinion when she needed to. |
