Anyone able to opine on Takoma Park ES vs. EL Haynes in DC

| We currently live in DC and applied to Haynes for preschool next year, but have been thinking of moving to Takoma Park. It would mean additional years of childcare expenses, but wondering if anyone has insight into how they compare to each other. |

| No idea how they compare to each other, but the Takoma Park schools are very good, from TPES to Piney Branch ES to Takoma Park Middle and up to Blair High. We've been through them all. Good luck with your decision! |

| Did you get into Haynes? If so, I would definitly take the slot. You can always tour Haynes to see if you like it. I looked at TPES but was very bothered by the difference in test scores (2012) among the different groups. I haven't seen any scores for 2013, so it is hard to see if they improved. I have heard great things from friends about TPES, but unfortunately, they are not as vested in the difference in test scores and what that might mean for their kid. |

13:01 - what do you mean that you were bothered by the difference in test scores "among the different groups". which groups? the gifted classes and the regular classes? or do you mean how MoCo breaks it out by race?
we plan to tour Haynes. i guess my question is really which school you'd pick if they were both options. |
