DH travels a lot. Conceiving with only 1 day of intimacy during Ovulation

I suppose the headline explains it all, but my husband travels a LOT to various conferences for work. This month (March), we were only able to have one night of "trying" together during the 5-6 day window of ovulation, which for me started last Tuesday.

We just started trying recently (the last 2 months have been a bust, but then again, we weren't tracking ovulation), but I am obviously beginning to feel the anxiousness of waiting 2 weeks to be able to do an at home test/miss my course now that I tried to time things correctly.

I know pretty much everyone on here tracks their ovulation cycle like a hawk...have any of you ever gotten pregnant when you were only able to have sex once during this time?

Curiosity (and WAITING!!) are killing me already!

YES. Both times I got pregnant we did it the morning of "most likely to ovulate" day (darkest green day) on the What to Expect Fertity App.

I would imagine that it in part depends on which day you try during that 5-6 timeframe. If you only get to try 4-5 days away from ovulation, its less likely to be successful than your most fertile day (day before ovulation).

What are you going to do when you go into labor and he's not there?

Who will help you take care of baby? Don't assume you will be up and able. I was bedridden (dr's orders) for 2 weeks. Even then I wasn't allowed to lift my newborn for fear of ripping my episiotomy (sp?) stitches.

My husband also travels pretty regularly, and I'm using ovulation strips so we have a better sense of which couple of days really count. He may well miss the key days with an upcoming trip, but we'll at least know as to manage expectations during the two week wait!

So this couple are in the same situation, and on the day MLTC, he has a big day at the office, and all he can manage is a quickie at lunch. He blasts through the front door, grabs DW, hi honey, kissing her and undressing her as he mad-dashes to the bedroom, jumps on, does his thing, jumps up, zips up, sorry honey, gotta go, we'll talk tonight, and he's off out the door. Never even took off his shoes.

That night when he gets home, DW is padding around barefoot, and he notices her toes are curled back on top of her feet. What's up with that, honey? Why are your feet like that?

You forgot to take off the pantyhose, dear.

I got pregnant doing it only once, the day I got a positive OPK and no other time. It took us over 2 years including many many months when we did it 4 times during the "fertile" window. It was maddening, but once should be enough, especially if timed right.

How about a booty call flight? I was in Boston for work for several days, and instead of getting a hotel room, I flew home two nights on the shuttle one month. The cost of the shuttle tickets and the hotel was about a wash as far as my employer was concerned.
