Hey, OP from "6month DD will only nap in my arms..am I doomed?? " here...
This gives me some (enough) hope to continue trying to get her to nap in her crib! Hopefully in a few weeks, we'll be down to naps in the crib consistently? I don't want to jinx myself here.. |
| Congrats! What worked? |
| Nothing different, just a belief that she would get it...and also a more relaxed approach thinking..if I put her down and she wakes up in 20 minutes, she'll just need another nap sooner rather than later. As opposed to thinking, she NEEDS the 1.5-2 hr nap NOW, ALL together.. |
I TOTALLY agree with this. I think they sense our stress. Try not sweat the small stuff...we'll all forget these sleep problems in 5 years
|
| CONGRATULATIONS OP!!!! What a great feeling just to realize that she can do it even if it takes a few more days (or weeks) to have it become consistent. |

OP here. Thanks for all the support!!
DD did really well on Thursday and Friday--sleeping for about an hour each time in the crib..today we were out for her first nap so the carseat was her bed of choice, and for her second nap, she opened her eyes every time (3 times) I tried to put her down I ended up holding her and she slept close to two hours. I'm going to keep trying, of course..but now I know she *can* do it. I guess she may have those days/times where she just wants to be cuddled...

| Not to be mean, but if your child is tired enough, she will sleep in her crib. My son has been sleeping through the night in his crib since he was 4 months. I woul put him down when he was tired and let him put himself to sleep. If she is used to falling asleep in your arms, that is all she will know. It may be 15 minutes of crying but try it and your kid will sleep and your life will be so much better trust me. |

21:19, DD will sleep through the night in her crib no problem, she just won't take naps in her crib. It seems she thinks naptime is in our arms (though as I said Thurs and Fri she napped in her crip) and bedtime is in her crib..
