Toddler recipes for preschool lunch? (they will microwave)

Anonymous
I need recipe ideas for 30 mo DD for preschool lunches. They will microwave. Anything with nuts is not allowed, and DD isnt ready yet for sandwiches (she will choke on big pieces).

Ideas? Right now every day its nuggets (veggie), mac n cheese, pizza cut up, or spaghetti.

My DD just eats our dinner leftovers. Does she eat what you eat? In a pinch, I'll put in a grilled cheese sandwich (you could cut it up if she has trouble with sandwiches), frozen veggie, and fruit

30 (so about 2.5, right?) months and she can't take small bites from a sandwich? Does she have any other issues? That would concern me? Another idea is to make a sandwich, say sunbutter and jelly, and cut it up for her and send it that way.

Otherwise, leftovers.

Why can't you just say your DD is 2 1/2 years old?

OP here - I guess I should start saying 2 1/2? OK, gotcha.

She does have a lot of delays, so maybe that's why she cant just eat a sandwich and make my life easier.

We cant do sunbutter because her preschool says it looks like peanut butter. And for some reason unfortunately she won't eat tortillas - I tried quesadillas per a suggestion on here. She does like veggie meatballs, I am waiting for Traders to start carrying their brand again. And she is too picky for leftovers. Ugh, I guess I need more suggestions. .

What about a wrap with cream cheese and turkey or chicken? You could cut it up in to small pinwheels.

Will she eat soups/stews?

Chicken and noodles?

Mild chili?

I like Anna Karabels cookbook. It starts with baby food but includes some good big kid food too. At 7 my kids still ask for receipts from the book.

Some favorites:
Tilapia in cheese sauce with veggies over orzo
Potato cheese croquettes --- wrap a cheese stick in a mash of root veggies, roll in broccoli crumbs and bread crumbs and bake.
Mini meatballs
Turkey cheese roll ups
Fruit and yogurt

Quiche or egg casserole?

Cottage cheese

Plain Greek yogurt

Grilled chicken with BBQ sauce to dip

Tortelloni - Barilla makes a bag that is easy to cook and refrigerate. My kids love them cold/room temp.

pita pizzas

I microwave a kid portion of the Trader Joe's japanese fred rice and add some chicken or egg.

Crackers or crisp breads and cream cheese?

This are some of the things I give to my preschooler - the teachers heat up food that is not to be served cold:

pasta - typically penne with cheese and butter (my fall back and thankfully a favorite of DC), pieces of rotisserie chicken, frozen pancakes or waffles, cheese sticks, bagels with cream cheese, hard boiled eggs, Dr. Praegers spinach pancakes, deli turkey, Greek yogurt tubes, baby carrots (or cut up into small pieces for the younger set), leftover cheese pizza.
