Jewelry recommendations for 9 year old girl

I am looking for a nice necklace or pendant for my 9 year old niece. Does anybody have any recommendations for jewelers or jewelry lines that may have something appropriate. I am thinking of something similar to the Tiffany's heart pendants, but without the Tiffany's price tag.

What about something with her birthstone - small earings or a ring.

Pearls are always nice too b/c they can be worn at any age and with nearly every style - never go out of style either - small pearl earings are not too pricey. We actually get all nieces and cousin's kids(female) the one pearl for each B-day / Xmas - by the time they are 16 each shoudl have a pearl necklace. They are about $25/2 pearls.

My family is Irish and all girls get a Claddagh ring around this age. Perhpas there is something similar for your family that can become a tradition for other girls.

Try the Tiny Jewel Box in NWDC. A pretty 14K gold heart locket with engraving would run you less than $100.
