Ganirelix question

My protocol has 125 mcg Ganirelix per day. Injection available through online pharmacy is 250 mcg and they cannot split it for me. The injection is pre-filled in the syringe with a needle.
Is it safe to take half injection each day? And if it is safe, how to keep the remaining half sterile each day? Any suggestions or experiences?

Have you asked your RE about this? I thought the prefilled syringe was the standard dose. I'm tiny and for most meds had a really low dose, but with Ganirelix I just used the whole prefilled syringe.

That said, if your dose truly is half of normal, I don't think I would reuse the syringe. If I remember correctly, they come in a sterilized sealed package...so I would be concerned that the medicine is not meant to be kept after being exposed to your body (unlike the Gonal-F pens which are designed for multi-uses). Again, though, this is the type of question you should definitely ask your RE. If s/he is giving you a dose that is different from the standard dose that is available, they should be giving you instructions on how to administer it.

Asked my nurse and she advised on not re-using the same syringe and needle. In other words, take only half the injection and discard the remaining half. Apparently, local pharmacies are able to split the injection but they charge extra for labor and syringe. Overall that cost for half injection is more than a full injection on an online pharmacy I prefer.
