Good places for family meet-ups

Where's a good spot to meet up with another family for a fun catch-up? Both fams have young kids so we're looking for something/somewhere to go hang out and catch up. Since kids are young, dinner at places without kid distractions can be a challenge but the men also want to be somewhere they can watch the basketball games. Preferably in DC or Alexandria as one group is in far out southern Maryland so a geographically convenient location would be ideal. TIA!
