Metropolitan DC Local Politics
Seems like you're the one who's refusing to surrender when you've already lost, though. |
Nice to know you think this is a game. But if you’re keeping score, what have you accomplished exactly? Seriously. Did you notice how quickly the city was able to implement the end of rush hour parking restrictions without needing an extra 6 months of “study”. If you don’t know how this thing is going to play out, then you’re quite naive. |
It was your metaphor. You can stomp your feet anonymously on DCUM all you want and tell us we all know what will happen. Your crystal ball is just as reliable as anybody else's. Only time will tell. If it makes you feel better to insist that the bike lanes won't be built, that's worth something for you. |
DP. The bike lanes are happening. You can continue to whine about it if you like, but the only thing you're accomplishing is looking childish. |
Is it? Why do you say that? |
As far as I can tell, Bowser is embarrassed by the Advisory Neighborhood Cylists and trying to create some distance in the hope that they'll behave and the fuss will die down. A lot can happen in six months and the budget situation next year will be even worse. |
LOL |
That’s what’s funny and these boneheads don’t understand. The delay has pushed contract award to FY25, which is exactly when DC is expected to hit the budget cliff, which is when the city is going to have to come up with tens of millions after being unable to find tens of millions to pay for bus service and cutting social services. This thing was 50/50 not gonna happen in January when DDOT announced delays. Now it’s hanging on by the slim hope that a miracle happens and DC wins the Powerball or something. |
There is no need for a crystal ball when we have ongoing budget hearings as a guide. I would also like to point out that just this week Bowser and Lott did a big press conference with a lot of publicity about road maintenance - for cars. Bike lanes seem to be rapidly falling down the list of priorities. Please do continue living in your fantasy world, I’m having fun laughing at you. |
You don't sound like you're having fun, tbh. |
Your false confidence and bravado is fantastic. DC just gave people more street parking full time on Connecticut Ave. they aren’t going to take that away for bike lanes. Y’all make me laugh. Not clear if you’re mendacious or naive but either way it’s very funny. |
| "I'm not mad I'm laughing" the DCUM nimby crew is legit a meme from 2016 |
It’s just funny to me that you’re out here arguing to the death over something that you have zero control over and is not even going to happen. Your words have no meaning or consequence. Just wasted electrons contributing to climate change. You are definitely obsessed and I’m having a good time making fun of you over it. |
Zap! Nice comeback! |
OMG! These people are never going to live that photo down. Even more incredible that the city is now NOT doing bike lanes. How humiliating. |
