I am by no means a health food nut, but I haven't eaten margarine in 20 years. There is no need.

I have only used butter, the unsalted kind.

It never went anywhere at my house!

I don't care about the various reports on the the butter. I love it and it will never leave our kitchen.

We bought some imported Irish butter from grass fed cows at costco and it's to die for. So freaking good it makes everything else seem like crap.

I very very rarely eat butter, because it doesn't agree with my stomach (it's the dairy fat, not the lactose). That said, I don't use margarine as a substitute. Olive and canola oil for cooking.
