| Someone help! Everytime I go to warm food or drink in the microwave, the food is barely warm while the plate or mug is extremely hot. Is it our microwave or it is the dishware? Any BTDT? |
|
Odd are it's the dishware.
Try heating some water in a Tupperware container vs. your dishware and see what happens. |
| Could your dishware have metal in it somewhere? In the glaze, maybe?? |
|
Are the dishes older? For some reason I found that over time ceramic dishes can start getting hotter in the microwave-- I think I saw an explanation somewhere about the moisture content of the clay.
On the other hand, I don't ever put plastic in. |

| Probably the dishware. Is it melamine? |
|
no, i bought some dishes from world market..and I think ikea. both have the same results..im really at my wits end.
i have tried tupperware and that works perfectly...ug |
| It's the dishware. It's certain types of ceramics that hold moisture, so they get really hot when placed in the micro. Use glass plates if you don't want to use plastic. |
| does anyone have any recommendations of plates that work in the microwave? |
I have a set of plain glass dishes that work well. Mine are from Crate & Barrel, but I think any plain glass would work fine. |
