Family restaurant?

Anonymous
Are there any restaurants that are fun for kids and family? I'm looking for a place to have dinner for my 4 year olds birthday, but we don't want to go to ChuckeeCheese because it is WAY too chaotic and the food is awful. So we're basically just looking for a dinner place that would feel fun to the kids, preferably in DC. Any ideas?

Tortilla Coast on Capitol Hill (part of the Cafe Deluxe family). They have a couple of rooms for private parties, servers are super nice and food is good and decent price.

Austin Grill at 7th & E NW seems to attract a lot of families with kids.

Probably too far, but my kids love Rainforest Cafe up in Towson, with all the animals and animal sounds. It's really cool.

Not really "family" restaurants but we've had nice family dinners at Meiwah (chinese) in chevy chase. They have big round tables and do fun drinks for the kids. Also a couple of better food places that we've liked with our family are: austin grill, tako grill in bethesda, haandi in bethesda (indian). Nice and friendly to kids.

Cafe Deluxe on Wisconsin, or Two Amys (but get there early if you go to Two Amys!)

I second the curious george suggestion. Also, all restaurants in del ray alexandria are family friendly, but not geared towards kids the way ciruous george's is.

B/c Tuesdays are kids-eat free nights (although it might not be Tuesdays anymore).
