| This is my first spring in NoVA. Will it be safe to plant my borders this weekend or is it still too early? |

| You can plant pansies now. Warm weather plants Re best done towards the end of April or early May. We have not crossed the last frost date yet. |

| Pansies and perennials are fine, as are all shrubs and trees. First week of may for anything not frost tolerant. |

| Make sure the ground is workable. We have clay soil here which can be difficult to work when it is cold. |
