Ward 7 and 8 options probably include better boundary alignment to where students are, especially now that we know better where charters are draining the DCPS pipelines, as well as mobility to Wards 7 and 8. There is also going to be that test-in middle school.
I don't see how any setup could be acceptable that would limit options from Wards 7 and 8 for student mobility westward. The number of "quality seats" in DCPS there is growing but are disproportionately low and very low-performing compared to the rest of DC. So while limiting mobility east of Rock Creek Park could have upsides in some places, I really doubt it in Wards 7 or 8.
