| So lately, I've noticed that my heart will start pounding/racing and I'll start to get this "heart dropping" sensation. What is it? There doesn't seem to be a trigger, in that it seems to come on at the most random times. |
| Panic attack? Do you have anxiety? |
|
dehydration
blood pressure |
| I have had mild anxiety in the past, but nothing like this, which is why I'm asking. Could be dehydration I guess. Blood pressure - would it be high or low? |
| Sounds like a panic attack. Try to make an appt with a Dr. and get some xanax. |
| Probably PVC's (premature ventricular contractions)-- usually benign, but worth getting checked out. |
|
My mother gets that. For years she was convinced it was tachycardia, but after numerous tests and various doctors, that has been ruled out. Personally, I think it is a combination of anxiety/panic attacks and blood pressure.
Dehydration can also mess up your blood pressure, raising or lowering it. Make sure your properly hydrated, that helps with lots of physical issues. |
| Thanks all. Made a doctor's appointment so hopefully will get to the bottom of this. |
| Could be an allergy. I get this when I eat licorice or drink herbal tea with licorice in it (and it's in a lot of things). So does one of my DC. |
| I notice more palpitations and PVCs just before my period. |
| Peri-menopause? I have that issue and it seems to coincide with hot flashes. |
I hope not since I'm only 35
|
I'm 35 and started having palpitations around the time of my period at 34. My gyn also mentioned that it might be the beginnings of peri menopause . |
| Does it stop when you cough? |
Not the OP, but I have this. I'll feel intense fluttering in my chest, and when I cough or bang on my chest, it stops. Do you know what causes that to happen? |
