My developmentally delayed son used his words today in school instead of throwing a tantrum or hitting. According to the teacher he asked another child to stop because it would make him upset and angry if he continued. And then the boy stopped and the children continued to play.
I'm doing the happy dance. Yes, I know. It's just one day. But one day is 100% better than no days!!!!! I want to scream his success from the rooftops. I could not be more proud of him. |
That's great! Congratulations to you and to your son!

| OP here...I should add that he's 4. Slow and steady = progress...right? |

Congrats, OP, this is huge, even apart from SN!
Seriously, think of all the adults you know who haven't figured this one out yet. |
+1 Way to go, OP's kid! |

WooHoo!
It is always great when you see examples of where all the hard work, you and he and others have put in paying off! Now you have a success story to use as a tool to encourage future use of words. |
| That is so awesome! Way to go kid, and way to go teacher for recognizing this as the accomplishment it is, |
| Good job! |
| Onward and upward. I love these little victories! Thanks for sharing. |
| So awesome. Good job kiddo! |
| OP here. Dad took him out for ice cream. Lol--I know it's 30 degrees! Thanks for celebrating his success with me. |
