Disposing of unusual heavy objects

Anonymous
We have a metal/concrete object that needs to be disposed of. The county wouldn't take it in their bulk pickup due to the concrete, and it's extremely heavy so we can't take it to the landfill ourselves. Any suggestions for companies that would haul it away? Getting a quote from 1800 Got Junk but the reviews indicate that they are very pricey.

Depending on what it is, you might get someone to come recycle it for you. Maybe a landscaper if it has materials they can use?

Or can you use a sledgehammer to reduce to smaller pieces that either you can take or bulk pickup will haul?

Ooh now I wish we had a sledgehammer. That would be brilliant. The recycling idea is nice if but starting to get flack from our neighbors (it's sitting in our front yard) so trying to get rid of it as soon as possible. DH was supposed to figure this out but kept dragging his feet.

Maybe one of your flacker neighbors has a sledge hammer they would let you borrow. Or you could spray paint it and call it art.
