Best nursing bra?

I picked up a medela nursing bra just to see what it was like and I wasn't terribly fond of the material - it felt a little scratchy. Is there a "Cadillac" of nursing bras out there that I should be looking into? Any advice is appreciated.

Bravado microfiber.

They also have bravado regular cotton, but they go on like a jogbra - after a few months of that you are soooo sick of it. The microfiber clasp in front, feel great and have easy 1-handed clips for nursing access.

A second vote for the Bravado microfiber...it looks great under "real" clothes. I also have the Medela "softbra" for around the house, running to store, coffee etc. It is so comfortable and the whole front folds down for skin to skin contact. FYI, I found the Medela bras on eBay (new of course) for $12 less than Sibley, $10 less than Target.com.

I HATED the Medela bra I felt compelled to buy at the hospital. It was something my grandma would wear. I have a Bravado one that I like but honestly my favorite has been the nursing tank from Target. I felt a lot more comfortable nursing in public if my tummy was covered...

I third the Bravado microfiber. It was great. The material is so soft and you will be so sore... I ultimately bought 3 of them because I wore them 24 hours a day for the first three months.

I actually really liked Elle McPherson's nursing bras. They are surprisingly comfortable and a little sexy too. I tended to prefer nursing camisoles most of the time, but when I went back to work and needed to look presentable, I really liked her bras.

Utility of bras varies greatly by size -- what might be able to support a C cup ain't gonna do the job for an F cup. I was a borderline D/DD pre-pregnancy and am scared to know what size I'll be after my milk comes in (I'm due in late April). Anyone out there with big "girls" got recommendations for a Hefty Hefty Hefty nursing bra? Also, if you have recommendations on where to find these bras at a discount (or at least at lower cost) that would be great. I know that figleaves.com is a great source (and they seem to have good reviews), but I'd prefer to be able to try on before buying....

This is slightly tangential, but does anyone know if sales on the supplies sold at the breastfeeding center on K Street help fund the group? If so, I'd feel great about paying full price there given all the free services they offer.

Maybe another tangential post but I'm only in my 4th month and am wondering if I should buy a maternity bra or just go ahead with a nursing bra (don't care if I have to buy another one). I am specifically looking for one that is comfortable for sleeping. My breasts haven't grown much in cup size yet, so I'm sure whatever I buy will have to be replaced. I don't necessarily care, though, I just want something comfy and supportive -- preferably not underwire.

FYI I just posted about bras for the well endowed on the general parenting forum...if you do a search i'm sure you'll find it. there were quite a few good recommendations.

I agree - the nursing tanks at Target are great... I live in them! I also liked two of their underwire bras. I bought one from mimi maternity and didn't care for it much. For the pregnant poster who needs a new bra, I'd totally get a nursing bra vs. a maternity bra. You'll need it anyway. That's what I did and this way you get more use out of it. Target also has a nursing bra for sleeping... no wires but very little support. It wasn't bad, but defn not as good as the tanks.
