Short hair on a woman

Anonymous
I've been observing a lot of debate concerning short hair vs. long hair. Do you really think short hair sends out a more "masculine" vibe, whereas long hair is more feminine on a woman? Do guys really prefer long hair?

The husband of a woman I know who cut her hair very short called her "Mr. Mom."

I just asked my husband if he likes short hair. He said, "Like a bob? That'd be okay. Nothing shorter."

I then asked if he'd give up blowjobs for life as payment for never cutting my hair shorter than a bob. "Yeah definitely. There are always hand jobs and sex."

It depends on the woman, and it depends on the haircut. I think short hair on African American women can look really beautiful and strong, whereas short hair on a lot of white women looks like an old lady haircut. Short hair can look great on white women too, but it's tougher to pull off.

My husband hates short hair and doesn't even like me with a bob. I think long hair is often more feminine than short hair, but every woman needs the right haircut for her. Some people just look better with short hair, and some people look better with long hair, and having a more flattering haircut is what makes them look more feminine.

Not every short hair cut is masculine. Pixie cuts are great and so are curly hair cuts. It's very hard to maintain long curly hair.

I also hate long hair on older women.

I was at conference with a lot of older women yesterday and the ones with short boy cuts all rocked the same look: old lady haircut, big dangly earrings and a colorful scarf. They ALL had the dangly earrings...the most gorgeous woman in her sixties had her gray hair in a braid, and not a million goofy accessories.

Short hair makes me think you've given up. That said, I am so ready to give up. My hair is waist length now and I dream of cutting it into a bob.

Is this really a thread? "Masculine vibe?" How about everyone wear the hair style they like, and everyone else just appreciate one another for the qualities and characteristics they possess as a person.

We are judging if people find this look attractive. The consensus so far is that is reduces a woman's sex appeal. If you find this offensive perhaps you should avoid the beauty and fashion thread entirely, as it's very much about seeking opinions and appraisals of appearances.

Wow. Did you really just type that? Six poster determine that a short haircut on a woman reduces sex appeal??? Someone better go tell Jennifer Lawrence to grow her hair out so she can get a man!

Jennifer Lawrence is beautiful, short hair or otherwise. However given the choice, short hair or long hair on Jennifer, I think most men would choose long hair. Sorry, but that's reality. I like wearing my hair short, and my husband thinks its cute, but I know that he truly prefers my hair long and left in its naturally curly state.

Pamela Anderson looks gorgeous and classy now with her new pixie cut.

I'm rolling my eyes here. I've had long hair and I've had bobs and the only thing that matters is if I like my haircut.
Some people look better with short hair, others don't. It's silly to debate matters of taste.

It's also pretty cultural. A lot more Western European women with short hair rather than overly long scraggly hair just to have length.

As for the DH who called his wife Mr. Mom: asshole.

In general my husband loves short hair on women - says it brings out their true beauty, that long hair can make anyone look good but truly attractive people shine w short cuts. He says he is in the minority, most men live long hair.

As for me, I switch it up, and have done a variety of styles that work w my face. Short pixies , mid length, bobs, long blunt, shoulder curls. He likes them all too.
