Silver Spring?

Chevy Chase near the Silver Spring border off East West Highway.

Are you looking to rent or buy? What's your budget?

We'd like to buy ideally. Budget 500K-600K. 600K would be a bit of a stretch. Any nice single families in that range?

North Potomac or Zip code 20878, good schools and THs are around $385K.

Clarksburg MD has newer TH, SFH and new schools that are really nice. Long commute though

Silver Spring looks nice/exciting and like the metro system, but not too sure about schools. Maybe Kensignton, MD?

You say SAHP "for the time being". Will that parent want metro access when they go back to work or want to be close to a certain area?
Anonymous
Metro access would be nice, but not a necessary part of our daily routine.

Thanks for the recommendations so far. We were hoping to be closer in, but it may not be realistic atm.

North Chevy Chase or Kensington

You want to be closer in than Silver Spring/Kensington/North Chevy Chase?

No sorry. Meant to quote. Closer than Clarksburg/North Potomac.

Bethesda would be great, but way out of our range for a SFH. We're not as familiar with the schools in Kensington, but I will look them up.

North Chevy Chase is not really possible at less than $600K. Rock Creek Forest is definitely possible, though.

North Potomac is bull shit . It's called Gaithersburg.

Do you have family money or significant savings? Otherwise, that's a high house price for that income.

We've got savings. And hopefully a higher HHI in a few years when I start working again..
