What kind of food is this? Yellow rice, with some kind of white sauce. The chicken, and the great warm pitas. If you've been to NYC, and saw the long lines for those Halal food carts, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. I'm now living in St. Louis and am not sure what type of restaurant to look for to find it though! Please help me. What's it really called, or what kind of restaurant serves it? Thank you!

A generic version of Greek / Lebanese / Persian Middle eastern. The sauce is probably taziki - a yogurt, onion, cucumber sauce.
You can also get naan bread, grilled meat, and yogurt sauce at an Indian place. |
it's the kind of food you can get at a "Kabob place" - not sure if they have that in St Louis
probably shwarma
Yup, shwarma. Look for a Lebanese or other Middle Eastern restaurant.
Thanks! I'm on the hunt. I've made it a few times from a copy-cat recipe, but sometimes takeout just is more appealing.

Look for Lebanese/Middle Eastern/Turkish or what's called "Mediterranean" in smaller places. That would be your best bet.
