I'm looking for a good foundation. My skin is somewhat fair, and I have freckles. Any recommendations? |
I really like Sue Devitt's foundations. You can get them at Sephora. If you have fair skin, you probably want Tsuanami. It comes in a gel that I use in summer, and I use the heavier one in the winter. Very nice make-up. |
I like nars. Really, you should go get your makeup done at blue mercury or somewhere and ask the makeup artist what is best for your skin. I know nothing about makeup and did this before my wedding. I'm still relying on his advice two years later. |
Chanel. Go to the counter at Saks or Bloomingdales. |
Personally, I don't think Chanel is worth the price. It's the same as L'oreal but in a different bottle. |
I have worn a lot of different brands. I LOVE make up in general. I agree with PP Chanel is not worth it. Plus, I have found with my sensitive skin, I seem to break out rarely easy when I used it once.
At the moment, I really LOVE Bobbi Brown. I usually go to Nordstrom at Tysons but if you live anywhere near Sterling, Susan is amazing! I also like Laura Mercier and Paula Dorf. But Bobbi Brown has been a favorite of mine for a while. |
Bare Minerals! Love it - have used all kinds of others in the past, but this is nice and smooth, not bank-breaking...LOVE IT! Mineral Foundation |
I highly recommend Laura Mercier foundations and tinted moisterizers. I have tried a HUGE array of high end foundations and have found that Merciers are the most natural looking and easy to use. Another pricey one that is good is Chantecaille (avail. at Neiman's). Depending on your skin type (I am fair with combo/"mature" skin and use Mercier Tinted Moisterizer Oil Free Nude or Oil Free Foundation for for more coverage), Mercier has a variety of formulas. I got hooked on it after seeing a friend who had been a no-makeup person forever show up with just the tinted moisterizer and she literally glowed--absolutely beautiful. |
OP here---Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm going to try some out this weekend. |
If you are looking for a lighter option, I recommend the Smashbox Tinted Moisturizer. Sheer coverage but enough to get lessen redness and dark undereye circles... |
Bobbi Brown...or Prescriptives. |
I've always been a huge fan of Wet N Wild cream foundation. My Grandmother used to wear it and I always thought she looked so fresh and clean. |
I second the PP. Wet 'n Wild has been my little secret since I was a teenager. |
I'm happy with M.A.C. foundation, ....in fact I love everything at the M.A.C. counter. |
I am also rather fair and have freckles and I LOVE Bobbi brown moisturizing formula in sand. It blends perfectly. |
