Does a simple rinse under the faucet do the job or is there a better method to ensuring pesticides are washed away without damaging produce?

I have always rinsed produce well in plain water. So far so good.

You cannot wash pesticides away. They are integrated with the plant.

I use potassium permanganate crystals dissolved in water (so its a pink color) to wash fruits and veggis and then rinse it with water.
Mostly for bacteria (e coli, salmonella etc).
