| Anybody read the book or try this method of gardening? (It calls for 6" deep garden beds and a special soil mixture.) If so, would you recommend it? |

I have a coworker who does this method of gardening and loves it.
For an even simpler option, I am considering something like this: https://earthbox.com/# |
| I like the cube foot gardening method better. We have raised beds lined with cinderblocks. I just mixed tons of Leafgro with autumn leaves and some topsoil. Then I added a number of the Espoma fertilizers and supplements, following instructions from another gardening book (forget the name). We have grown vegetables and flowers with great results. I put down several thicknesses of newspapers to cover the earth before starting, to curb weeds. |
| Did a version of it and it was great. You don't have to do the measuring, just eyeball the space. This year, I'll put on soil conditioner and compost and then plant. |

If you decide to use railroad ties, don't use the treated wood. It will leach into the plants.
