My son is in the engineering program there. Excellent university. What I love about it (and what he loves about it) is the fact that they have a libertarian bend, so there is no preconceived notion re: what to think and how to think.
My son loves the logical delivery from a lot of his professors. Said his micro-economics teacher was hard, but he loved going to class. I was amazed at how much he learned in that class and how interested he was. |

Ah, not good enough for you? Got it
|
no your post is lame and not very thought provoking or asking a quesiton it is just there like a blob |
| Happy to hear this. Best of luck to your DS. |
| OP, that makes me very happy to hear! My DS was accepted and is currently considering his options. GMU is definitely on his list! It's a great school and offers so many opportunities. We were so impressed with the list of internships students have gotten there over the years. Thanks for posting! |
All about fit, my dear. Good for your son. He will be far more successful in an environment that he LIKES than otherwise. |
|
I find it interesting. I think it is interesting when a child likes their college right from the start. I hear that often about GMU. I hear they really care about their students.
Other college feedback is rarely as favorable from 1st year students. They often feel lost or like a number and eventually find their way. But at GMU I often hear students love it there right from the beginning. |
| Do engineering students have time in their schedule to take Microeconomics? |
I have had nothing but good experiences with the offices at Mason. My son is dysgraphic and the disabilities office is stellar! My friend's son is taking a summer course there (calc 3) and called me today to tell he me how accommodating they were - and she was just a walk-in. Just seems to be a genuinely happy place. It is SO about fit! Even though he's close to home (he lives there), he has a girlfriend now and we see him....sometimes. LOL. |
It's required. |
It's called feedback. People come here to inquire about colleges. I am providing some feedback on our experiences since people in this thread on the forum are interested in (say it with me) colleges. |
You're welcome. I got my Master's there over 20 years ago (hurts to say that :mrgreen It was a good school then. It's grown so much, yet they seem to have kept their small feel, if that's possible.
Your son will enjoy it if he goes, I think. Congrats on the acceptance. |
Pray tell, why would an engineer need to know about the choices people make based on scarcity of resources? |
I was a criminal justice major and microeconomics was required. So were an array of other non-CRJ courses. It's called being well-rounded, pray tell. |
