Where in the Alexandria area can I get some good cake? Not celebrating anything, but I don't eat cake very often, so I'd like to indulge in something delicious and well made. I tend to like Chocolate, coconut, lemon, berry. Where should I go for cake?

| What about a cupcake? There's a cupcake place in old town although I didn't like it as much as Georgetown Cupcakes. |

OP here - nice image pp. But I'm 130 lbs and workout 6 days a week, so I'm pretty ok with shoveling cake into my mouth once in a while! Life is all about balance
PP - I thought about cupcakes, but it's not the same. I'm craving a nice, big multi-layered, eat with a fork/spoon slice of cake (or small 6" cake) |

Is there still a Firehook Bakery in Old Town?
If so, I'd go there. |
| Lavender Moon is the cupcake place in Old Town that gets the best reviews (there are a few cupcakeries in Old Town now). I don't know about cakes. Maybe Alexandria Pastry Shoppe (I think it's called?) in the Bradlee Shopping Center? I'm not a huge fan of Buzz's cakes/cupcakes. |
| Not too far away -- Heidelberg bakery sells amazing multi-layered cake by the slice and you can eat it there with a great cup of coffee. This is DS's idea of heaven, btw (minus the coffee). |
| +1 to both the Heidelberg bakery and Alexandria Pastry Shoppe. Both are amazing! I'd just go to whichever is closer to you. |
| I love Randoph's Bakery. |
| Costco chocolate cake |
| Aw, I'm sorry you have such food issues that that seems like an appropriate image to post when someone asks where to buy cake. Hugs to you and I hope your recovery goes well. |
