We're dreaming of a trip to Southern Spain & Morocco. Please help us plan!
For Spain, we'll likely take an apartment in Sevilla, with day trips to Granada, Cadiz, and Ronda. Any other places you would recommend? In Morocco, which cities would be most interesting for little kids? Or, is it better to just book a resort? And how much timing would you give to each place? Are there any activities or sights that might be especially interesting for a 3yo boy? |

We went with a 5 year old last year and really enjoyed it (although we did Madrid/Barcelona/Sevilla).
Because we were travelling around from place to place more we did not do day trips from Sevilla, but you might want to consider Cordoba-- I think it's only about 45 minutes by high speed train ("AVE"). On the other hand, IIRC, Granada was farther away and would have been hard to do as a day trip. Some people recommended Gibraltar to me, but that also seemed far (and the monkeys can reportedly be a little aggressive so I'm not sure if they would be a plus or minus with a small child). |

Our family went to Morocco for Thanksgiving last year with 6 kids ranging in ages from 9 to 1. Everyone had a blast!!! We spent a couple of days exploring Fez and the old Medina. Then we rented a house in Marakesh so everyone was free to do as they pleased. The older kids loved to explore the market and we had a sitter at the house to watch the baby. I highly recommend Morocco for kids.

| We visited Spain for 8 days with a 4 month old and a 24 month old- LOVED it. Very easy and great food. We rented an apt. in a smalll town on the coast and did a few day trips. Spent most of our time on the bech or walking around town/parks. |
| We went to Morocco when I was almost 6 months pregnant. It was great....and very inexpensive. We went for 8 days. Two in Essouria, 3 in Marrakesh, 2 in Fez and an overnight camping in the Sahara. Camping was AMAZING. I even rode a camel in and out of the desert. We had been to Spain a few years back, and I enjoyed Morocco much better. |
