What would it do for football if young middle class moms' idol Taylor Swift became an NFL owner. Overnight the violent sport becomes far more palatable.

She and her dad want an NFL team. That much is clear. It's about all there is left to do once you reach that level of net worth.

I am always fascinated by that actually: You are a billionaire with more money than you will ever need, and still want to be more powerful and make more money. It feels like a strange disease.

I think the little braid is her new “trend” for her next album. I’m not saying it looks good, but she had a similar look at the Grammys. Expect the trend to spread since anyone can do a crappy job of braiding a small section of hair.

I do understand leverage and financing, and while a partial stake could work for her, full ownership would be an enormous risk. I think she’s too smart and well advised for that. Ah, well, if more of us valued food and cheer and songs above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

I really do lean this way, though I think there is *some* affection between them. Like I think they were set up for PR purposes to "see where it went" and they hit it off well enough to "take it public" and here we are. To me there is no question that PR was a consideration.

The Matty Healy question is an open one for me. Taylor went above and beyond to mitigate the fallout from him after people heard his comments about Ice Spice on that podcast (which happened months before people found out they were dating, so it's not like she was blindsided -- that's just how he talks). Breaking up with Healy and making Ice Spice her new pet for the last 6+ months to avoid even the implication that she might share his views was, honestly, overkill to me. So using Travis to turn the page on that is in keeping with that strategy.

BUT I really do suspect much of the new album is about Healy, not Alwyn. I mean, one can only speculate without having heard the songs, but some of the titles (especially "But Daddy I Love Him") do not scream steady, boring Joe Alwyn. They do scream bad boy with a drug habit, i.e. Healy. I guess we'll find out in April.

But if the new album is at least a bit about her messy dalliance with Healy, even if there is some stuff on there about Joe, it's baffling to me why she'd go to such lengths to get people to forget she'd ever dated Healy. Successfully! Even many of her fans barely remember that happened, even though it was only @ 9 months ago that all this went down (and she was likely seeing him for months before that, that's just when people found out and attention focused on him). Why work so hard to put that in the past and then release an album to dredge it all up.

Taylor is so fascinating because she gives the appearance of being an extremely controlled, Type A person, but the girl is m-e-s-s-y. So much drama. So much of it avoidable!

People have speculated that her recent hair and styling is a reference to her cover art and styling for Reputation, and that she's doing it because that will be her next Taylor's Version release. I think this is likely, even though she also announced the new album. She released multiple TVs the same year as Midnights so I wouldn't be surprised if she did it again.
