MCPS closed (March 17th)??

Thoughts? I cannot believe this winter isn't over yet! If school's cancelled-- I'm grabbing the boxed wine!!

Closed for sure!

I hope so.

I'm not even preparing the kids for school tomorrow. Letting them stay up late.

I think delay if there is anyway to open.

No chance they open.

I think a delay is likely, but not a given if there isn't much accumulation on the roads by 11 pm. I also think the forecasts have overestimated the volume of accumulated storms last several March storms (March 3 this year was going for 8+" and we got 6" tops; who remembers "NoQuester" from last year??) and that today's temps will reduce accumulation.

Sending my kids to bed on time tonight because I want some peace and quiet!

I can't believe we're having this discussion again this late in the season. I grew up in New England and a March or April storm is pretty normal, but not so much around here. I just hope my back up daycare is open (thankfully they follow the Feds).

School closed, and if more than 5" of snow, Fed closed.

The number of closings this year has really put a stress on working families.

The roads are wet; nothing is sticking.

I fail to see how this is a safety issue.

And I'm a teacher with two little ones.

It always takes a while to stick on the roads. I agree that it's premature to close now, if the nws prediction of 4 - 8" come true then closing is the responsible choice.
