...at night when I'm in certain positions.
It usually stops when I change positions, so I only experience it for a few moments at a time. It doesn't disrupt my sleep or anything like that, I barely notice it so I'm not exactly sure how long it's been going on. I just happened to google it and freaked out because it seems to be associated with all kinds of serious health issues. I don't get ringing in my ear, just the sound if my pulse in a "whooshing" way. Anyone else? |
| I get this once in a while, too. I can't make it happen consistently or anything. |
Me too. It goes away on its own so I've never worried about it. |
| This happens to me when I'm congested. Ear infection could be coming on. I never knew it could be associated with serious heath concerns. Of course now I'm off to Google... |
| I can't sleep on my. Ears |
| I have this. If it happens all the time it could be a conditon called pulsatile tinnitus. For me it is caused by inner ear swelling. I've had it for two years and have gotten used to it over time. Good luck. |
Oh no! Didn't want to inspire another person to seek doctor google!
Sorry about that. I never thought anything of it either and randomly looked it up tonight. I did just get over a bad cold, maybe it's related. Apparently that's the most common cause. |
Do you get it often, PP? |
|
Happens to me a few times a year, but mostly associated with seasonal allergies and inner ear pressure.
I do the valsalva maneuver, chew gum, sometimes lie down or sleep with a heating pad. Usually goes away on its own and is helped by antihistamines. |
| 21:30 here. Yes I have it more often than not though a course of prednisone helped a lot. |
| I've had this for as long as I can remember. I can't make it happen, but I think it's a particular position. Anyway, I asked a cardiologist kind of randomly (I have MVP) and he said it has something to do with anatomy. I can't remember exactly, but it had to so with arteries/veins near your eardrum, if I'm remembering correctly. |
| Are you congested? If your ears are stuffed up, this happens to me. |
| Happens to me with allergies. Decongestants usually help. |
I get it a lot too. It's when I lay on my side I can hear my heart pounding in my ears. It goes away or I drift off to sleep with the rythm of my heartbeat. Soothing actually
