The local shelters are usually happy to have volunteers come help with the animals. They may have an orientation program before letting you interact with the animals.
Also check out cat rescues. Does your lease ban pets altogether? If not, perhaps fostering a cat is an option. |

There's a pet store on pickett street in fairfax that lets you play with the animals. my daughter goes there when she needs a fix!

| Don't go to the shelter in downtown Fairfax. There is a lady that works their that is AWFUL! We bought my elderly father their to pick a cat and she wouldn't even let him see/interact with some most of the cats. Her attitude was so bad it was shocking |
