We eat out or get take put probably 3x a week and cook the other 4. I know this is a lot for some people, but it works for us and I don't see it changing. 1 night (usually Saturday) we'll go to a "real" restaurant like Clyde's or the local Mexican place, but the other times its like Baja Fresh, Corner Bakery, Panera, etc. Every other week or so we'll pick up some Peruvian chicken.
No need to flame us. We're just not cooks and don't aspire to be. |
| Forgot to add that were looking for new ideas of places to go. Kids are little (3 and 6.) |
| This is a great topic because we're always looking for good kid friendly ideas too. Where are you located though? You don't want people suggesting places in MD if you live in DC or VA (for example). I would love to hear N Arlington or Falls Church recommendations. |

No flaming here. It's hard with young kids. Can you find a good Indian restaurant? Lots of veges, good exposure to new foods. Often you can find non-spicy dishes by asking the staff.

OP here. This is a great suggestion. We are in the N. Reston area, but also open to more general suggestions like the one I quoted. |
| One of our favorite weekday take outs is the Whole Foods hot and salad bar. Also Chipotle, Sweet Green, Cava Mezze, Greek. My 7 year old loves these places. When we sit down during the week, we do Silver Diner. |
For take-out - District Taco, Super Pollo, and kabob (Arlington Kabob, Afghan Kabob House, Ravi) are our favorites. Lost Dog and Pie-tanza for sit-down. |
| we're similar. Friday night will usually be pizza. Other take out nights might be chipotle, cava mezze, peruvian chicken, moby dick's kebabs, chinese/thai, occasionally sushi (kids can get tempura or teriyaki, plus veggie rolls). |
| There's a Gregorio's in Reston I think. Very good. |
| Vietnamese from the Eden center. Kids can get something simple like lemongrass chicken with noodles and we supplement with fruit and veg at home when we get takeout. Their fresh squeezed juices and boba drinks are a big hit with our crew also. |
| Chipotle! |
Silver Diner in N Arlington Clare and Dons in Falls Church District Taco in between |
| whole foods hotbar. i would eat at whole foods for lunch and dinner every day if i could. |
We're in North Reston as well. Gregorio's at NorthPoint Santini's--love their pizza Kumo Sushi (over to Woodland Crossing off Sunrise Valley)--best sushi in Reston/Herndon IMO, nice chicken tempura for kids if they don't do sushi. They're very kid-friendly. |
I could have written this. We're another couple who eat out 4+ times/week. It alleviates my guilt somewhat to see we're not alone. |
