Foundation to cover rosacea -- CoverFX?

Anonymous
My baseline redness seems to be getting worse, and I'm trying Oracea. I've got a derm appointment coming up, but in the meantime, I'd like a better foundation to cover the redness. I have very fair/porcelain skin with neutral undertones, under the redness.

I've read good reviews online of CoverFX. What else should I try?

I really like Clinique redness solutions. Oracea has also worked extremely well for me.

I just started using benefit the big easy, and I live it. I have mild rosacea and it covers it really well. I wear it with a little benefit hoola bronzing powder on top and it is working to conceal the redness. If you buy from ultra or sephora and it doesn't work out they'll take it back. Of course that's true for the suggestions you got from the other PPs as well.

I have used Laura Mercier (plus a green primer when I remember) for the past few years at the suggestion of several makeup stores. It worked well initially as it's a thicker foundation and covers well, but lately it's been clumping strangely and making my skin really dry so I'm looking for something new too. All my research has pointed me toward Clinique redness solutions.

Clinique redness solutions did not work for and it expensive. I like Tarte foundation from Ulta. Oracea worked great for me as well. Are you using Finacea too? Personally IPL treatments were the only thing that really got rid of my redness for a good period if time. Good Luck

Where did you get IPL? I've heard it very important to go to someone who has experience treating rosacea or you could end up looking worse.

We recently relocated to the midwest from DC, so i have no one local to recommend. Out here, in the midwest, i went to a well know Dermatologist. I agree though i've heard bad things if you don't find someone good to do it.

OP here -- thanks for the suggestions, all. The Oracea had an almost immediate beneficial effect on my ocular rosacea, but hasn't done much for my cheeks and nose. At first, it made the flushing worse, but after a few weeks my skin seemed to become accustomed to it.

I'll go to Ulta and try Benefit, Tarte, and Cover FX. If they don't match or don't work out, then I'll try the other suggestions mentioned here. Thanks again, everyone.

Have you tried Finacea? It has kept the red away (for me) going on 10 years now.
