| What are your favorite places to get tex-mex in DC, preferably metro accessible...Go! |
| Tex mex is not big here. So it will be slim pickings. Sorry. |
| There are only a few places: Guapos, Cactus Cantina, Uncle Julio's Rio Grande, Mi Rancho... |
| In Brookland, so San Antonio Grill. |
| MI Cocina |
| Holy shit, there's a mi cocina in the DC area??? |
| Not sure how much Tex-Mex differs from just Mex, but Rosa Mexicano and Oyamel are both good but more pricey. |
| My favorite is cactus cantina... but it's not near the metro at all. |
Opened Mother's Day weekend last year. In MD, near Friendship Heights. |
Think it opened in the last year in Friendship Heights, on that strip of boutiques like Saks and Jimmy Choo. Never tried it. There's a new place in Bethesda that's decent, more mexican than tex-mex, called Gringos and Mariachis (hate the name, but what are you going to do) |

Guapos is the best fajitas I've found. San Antonio in Brookland is pretty mediocre in my opinion.
Cactus Cantina is good, but not as good as Guapos in my opinion. The best, though: Taqueria Distrio Federal in Columbia Heights (and they have two other spots that I havent been to). |
gracias! I agree on San Antonio, although I go there out of convenience as I am a Brooklander. |
| I love Guapos fajitas. Their margaritas are so-so, too much sour mix, but they are strong! |
| I like the queso at Guapos. And their chips. |
Same, I'm close to San Antonio but normally make the drive to Guapos instead. |
