Tips for Entertaining a 16 month old

Anonymous
Hi,

I would greatly appreciate any travel tips on how to pass the time on a long flight. My 16th month old and I are flying to AZ this week. Besides snacks, any other time passing tips for me?

A paper cup with a lid (like a McDonalds cup) + straw = content 17 mo. old for a good 20 min. Just pushed the straw in and out, took the straw out, examined it, put finger in straw hole, put finger in cup, etc. The simplest thing...

A pack of tic-tacs. It may annoy your seat mate to hear the constant rattle, but, again, it was quite entertaining for DD - and when it starts to get old, be creative - put it in a glove (we traveled in the winter) and shake, or hide it in the palm of your hand, etc.

Ditto the new toys, old toys, special snacks, never eaten before "sweet" snacks (we introduced arrow root cookies for the first time on the airplane) - that was fun - sticking finger through the hole - by the way.
