If Bill Richardson was a Republican...

we would have dozens of posts already about his withdrawal (what is he afraid we will discover? he must be guilty of something, blah blah blah).

I disagree. If we posted dozens of messages every time a Republican had ethics problems, we would all have carpal tunnel syndrome.

I think that the investigation is going to continue so that he can be in a position to take another appointment later on.

That should say "If Bill Richardson were a Republican...." A hypothetical takes the subjunctive. This is a non-partisan comment.

Can we diagram that sentence please

Didn't we just go off on the Democratic Governor of Illinois a few days ago? I think we were pretty bipartisan there. I don't think this group is attacking Republicans indiscriminately, and I don't see them sparing Democrats who get in trouble.

Richardson will get his criticism once we have some idea what happened and what role he played in it.

16:58. I thought you were anal until I read the header out of context. Absolutely takes the subjunctive. One of my favorites aspects of DCUM is that people are literate and articulate.

16:58,: I can diagram that sentence (thank you nuns), but like the sound of proper English.

PS: Yes, has been blissfully silent. Perhaps Republican propaganda machine is either busy fixing its massive failure or plotting nasty anti-Obama-grams for 1/20
