School Suggestions

I am looking for suggestions on schools or programs for 4 years olds in the Largo, Bowie, Mitchellville area for next year. I need something challenging and engaging for our son. I asked about Woodstream Christian Academy previously but recieved 0 feedback. PLEASE help!

One of my children attended Woodstream for PK4, and that was years ago, so I can't offer much. The PK program was okay, but it was rather advanced at the time. I found the school to be nurturing, with friendly, welcoming staff and good parents at the time.

Belair Baptist School (I think that's what it is called), on Belair Dr. in Bowie is small, but the program looked good. I heard good things about Grace Christian in Bowie, and St. Pius in Bowie (but large class sizes there). What about Riverdale Baptist? I've heard mixed reviews on that one. Lanham Christian is not far from the Bowie area -- I read mixed reviews on that too, but I nearly sent my children there (they ended up getting into public K through early admission testing). I haven't heard much good about Reid Temple. But people love Holy Trinity. Good luck.

Saint Ambrose in Cheverly is good.

I second st. Ambrose. My daughter loves going to school. It is worth a visit. I have enjoyed the experience.

I have also heard great things about woodstream pre K program. However, the person that sent there child took there child out in K to go to Reid Temple. They love Reid Temple but it is not cheap. It depends on what you can afford. I visited holy trinity and really liked it as well but at the time with a child in college we just could not afford it. We ended up at St. Ambrose which is a catholic school, which was a concern at first. I must say it was affordable for us. My daughter liked pre k and overall the school environment, academics and program were suitable for us. There are some things that i think could be better but my daughter is very happy and all schools have there weaknesses. I would say visit and you will just know which school will best suite your child based on enviornment, beliefs and budget.
