The driver showed up without two items and said, "oh we were out of those" and then they charged me the full amount of my original order!
I just spent 25 minutes on hold before hanging up and realizing that waiting for a Peapod rep to answer the phone was probably not worth my $5. But I'm pissed! Has this happened to anyone else? |

If you really want to prove a point, call your credit card company and dispute the charge. You can dispute just the amount that you shouldn't have been charged.
Much worse will probably happen in your life, I'd chill out a little. |

I would be super pissed too. The bigger issue for me would be that the driver showed up without my two items and no one bothered to let me know the items were out of stock and to give me an opportunity to substitute. Peapod charging you for the items just adds salt to the wound. You use Peapod to make your life easier, not to have to put up with this BS.
I was a loyal user of HT Express Lane for years and they started to pull this stuff with me. So much so that the convenience was turning into a major inconvenience. Now I find time to go to the grocery store myself. I hope you get things worked out with Peapod. IMO opinion they need to provide you with a good will gesture that signals that they care about your business and regaining your trust. |
| I agree with OP. The point of Peapod is to save time. If when an issue arises, it takes 30 minutes of your time to get it fixed, then it's not worth it. |
| I've never spent 25 minutes on hold with peapod. That's a little worrisome. They are usually extremely responsive and fix issues without any fuss at all. |

Happened to me years ago. When we finally got it resolved they waived the delivery charge and gave me an additional credit.
I stopped using the service, because, as the PPs stated, it became too much of an inconvenience. They would forget key items, like milk, and I'd end up having to go to the store anyway after waiting for them to show up hours after they said they would. |

In reality, I've had them say 'We're out of' the last 5 times I've ordered (over maybe 3 months). And it's annoying, they say I can call in the AM to verify the order is complete but that's it. A few of those times, I had a specific ingredient to go with others to make a certain meal. Not ideal!!

| I have had good luck with their "Contact Us" form for disputing things. I have gotten a refund of the delivery fee twice when their driver arrived over an hour outside the delivery window, and I also got a refund on a dozen broken eggs one time. There have been times when things show up missing from my order and I haven't complained about it because I didn't notice until later, but I always check to make sure that if there are things that are out of stock that they either substituted something or zeroed out the cost of those items on the invoice. |
