Hello there,
I am a mommy of a three year old and I'm desperately trying to find a part time job that I can do from home, in the evening after I put my child to bed. If you have any suggestions please please please post here. Thanks |

Nobody will hire you when you self-identify as "a mommy."
When you are speaking with adults, you refer to yourself in non-cutesy terms. |
I was assuming I was talking to parents here, which is why I used the term. I actually hold MA in Linguistics and have a FT teaching position but am unable to pay my bills and am struggling. I am trying the best I can to provide for my child. If you don't have anything helpful to say, please save yourself time and leave no comment at all. Thanks |
| Can you take care of another child? |
Sorry, but the 'mommy' term does reveal you are already too strung out. I would see if you can help folks edit college application essays or resume/cover letters? low level editing away from publishing co |

| Can you do some part-time tutoring? |
Not after kids have gone to sleep! That's OP core problem. She is already working during day, but wants to have family time and then pick up some more work at the small hours from home. Not easy task. |
| OP, do you have a spouse? Someone to watch your child at night? If so, I would get a job out of the house, in retail or in a store. only a few nights a week and you could bring in money that way.. more likely than finding a reputable at home at night job. |
| What about online essay grading? |
| OP, that's a tall order. You already work full time, how many hours do you think you really would be able to spend at this without sacrificing sleep or important time with your child? I'd rather not share the road with someone spread so thin. Do you work in a public school? Are salaries that bad? (I guess that's pretty relative to what's considered bad.) Are you off in the summer? Lots of opportunities for extra work then. |
