Where did you buy your mattress you love?

We bought ours at one of those mattress stores ten years ago and we HATE our mattress so vowed we'd only buy a new mattress from a department store. The only department stores I know of with home stores are Bloomingdales and Macy's - two very different dept stores. Any other store I'm missing? I'd consider Costco but I don't think you can try them out.

I just use a feather bed and it is super comfortable regardless of how cheap the bed is.

Keetsa.com. Best green mattress ever. We have the green tea supreme and it's amazing. It's 6 years old now and in amazing condition. I plan to buy one for each of my daughters once we end the toddler bed phase.

Bloomingdales. Shiffman. We like really firm mattresses. Wait for a sale. And don't get the warranty---you'll never use it.

mattress discounters-- Stearns and Foster-- I think the key is to try the mattress out many times. Lay on the mattress at least three times. Try it out for ten to twenty minute spurts in a few different positions that you like to sleep in. I have been very happy with my mattress, although I think it is maybe wearing out a little faster than I would like. It is four years old and has little depressions where we sleep.

We tested out mattresses and decided we like latex best - and purchased 1 online.

Give yourself time to shop and figure things out for what works for you.

We got a great mattress for a fantastic price at Macy's, and a crap mattress for the same price at Costco.

Love love my Costco mattress. They had it in store, so we pulled it out of the rack and laid on it in the asile. Drove it home strapped to the top of the car (no highway - drove slow and it was VERY well tied down). I have another mattress from Costco that is pretty firm - great for my son, but I don't like it as well. You never know what they'll have in store.
