I am looking for feedback on language classes for kids.
First-they seem to be pricey...How much is OK to spend, and does it make sense paying monthly? I feel that commitment to a session of two months would be beneficial?? Any specific details on them provider that I should be focusing on while deciding? I am hoping to hear some good feedback from your experiences. |

Depends on what you want from the experience.
We just enrolled 8 year old DS in a 2h30 long French weekend class because we can't teach him grammar, etc at home. They follow an abridged but age-appropriate French curriculum. We are a bilingual family, and might even go back to live in France someday. For this, we pay $210 a month. |

PP again - honestly, unless you are reinforcing the language at home constantly, language classes might not be worth the time and expense. |

I think that classes at a very young age give a good foundation even if the child does not speak the language, he will be more willing to learn or practice it in the future.
Any knowledge of any language is an asset. |
This, my child really enjoyed language classes and has developed a strong interest in it now from weekend classes |
What's the name of the school? |
| Languages are expensive...How many of you continue on month to month basis and what programs? Is it worth it? |
| We did language stars for a while. Got too expensive. Got together with another neighborhood mom and found a teacher to teach our preschoolers during the week now. Much cheaper and a shorter drive. We will be starting immersion PreK this fall. Will do immersion summer camp this summer. |
| How much does it cost you in comparison to LS? |
$14.58 per hour of class Vs $40 per hour of class at LS |
Granted, this class is held at someone's home vs. a fancy facility in an expensive zip code so lower overhead costs |
Could you share the name of the teacher and where she is located? We're in VA (mclean area and would be interested) Please email me at mcleanmom78@gmail.com if not wanting to post here. thanks. |

I just found this thread, looking for a pre-K program in French. If you are in the McLean, VA area and know of a program to immerse 4-year olds, please post back.
Our two older kids go the French Saturday School (myfrenchclasses.org) which is located near the Beltway and easily reachable from VA (we live not far from McLean ... with no traffic on Saturdays, it only takes about 20 minutes to get there). The great thing about this school is that all classes take place at the same time and that my kids have made friends with whom they also speak French at their playdates. It's very well organized and the teachers are great. Price-wise, it's the best deal for a real quality program (the classes follow the same books as in France). It's $320 per trimester for three hours a week and siblings get a discount. |

| The average is $35/h with one child. |
