Looking for hotel with indoor water park--not Great Wolf Lodge

Anonymous
We are looking to get away during the inauguration weekend. I checked Great Wolf Lodge and it will be over $1,000 for our family of 5. I enjoy the GWL, but don't want to spend that much this time around. Does anyone know of other hotels with a small indoor water park or a really neat indoor pool? Ideally, we only would like to drive 3-4 hours. We stayed at the Willow Valley Resort in Lancaster, PA, last summer and really enjoyed their indoor pool--it had an alligator slide in the pool and other little water attractions that the kids loved. My kids are 5, 3, and 1. We'll probably go back there if we don't find anything else. Thanks in advance for any leads!

I don't still have it, but on Friday in the weekend section of the Post, they had a list of indoor water parks.

Ahh...I was going to suggest Willow Valley. Hope you find something!

Massanutten Resort in Virginia has a pretty cool indoor water park. It is about 2 hours away, and in addition to the resort hotel, there are lots of rental properties available on the resort grounds.

Massanutten.

We have a time share there and went there back in August. The resort (Massanutten) is a blast in itself, but the water park down the road was just icing on the cake.

Unlike Grey Wolf Lodge, you DON'T have to stay at the resort to go to the water park. In fact, if you just wanted to make a day trip out of it you can do that too.

Massanutten is easy to get to. About 10 miles from JMU (I81 to exit 253 - about 2 hours from DC).

Have fun.
