OK, I haven't been to the dentist since 2009 (to have two teeth pulled) and last cleaning was in 2003.
Any suggestions on a capable dentist in Springfield/Burke environs that is good with dentist-averse (skittish) male patients? Reasonable fees always appreciated, but getting me thru the ORDEAL is paramount. Funny thing, is when I am finally in the chair it's usually fine...but the reputation/recommendation has to get me in the chair. |
| Philip Tomaselli in Burke. Have seen him for decades and will be heartbroken when he retires. Incredibly gentle manner. |

Oh I love, love, LOVE Dr. Suzanne Williams! She's a dentist on Old Franconia Road in Alexandria. I found year 10+ years ago by calling the 1800 Dentists number and asking for a dentist who specializes in terrified patients. I had a horrid experience when I was a young child (teeth pulled without pain management, no stitches, excessive blood lost, ended up needing an oral surgeon to correct it . . ) that prevented me from going to the dentist for almost 15 years.
She is absolutely amazing. Gentle, non-judgmental, friendly, and very calming. |
| OP here. I will say, avoid Mark Rust in the district, even though highly recommended. I went to get teeth cleaned in 2009 (it had been 6 years)... found out, after bitewings, that upper left rear molar needed extraction. Also recommended to pull adjoining wisdom tooth. All well and good, but then didn't do a cleaning. So, go the teeth pulled a week later and never bothered again... I mean really, clean the teeth and schedule a pulling ... don't wait until after |
| I love "Annandale smiles" just inside the beltway. They are so kind and gentle and gentle and understanding of fearful patients. |
| Dr. Murli Mehta in Annadale, two of my co-workers see her too. |
