Budgeting for health insurance

Our current plan has max OOP of $1000 per family member, $2000 per family, per year. Premiums $100 a paycheck. We also have a employer funded HSA that covers most of the OOP. No deductible. $25 copay for ER and specialists.

Obama says this is a "Cadillac" plan.

No word on when changes come.

How does this plan compare to the changes you all have experienced due to obamacare?

Obamacare hasn't impacted me at all but I'm happy to see this country finally putting its peoples health ahead of corporate profit.

Troll. Obamacare fed insurance companies more profits than ever, while starving health professionals and physicians. Try again.

I pay $800 month and have a $5200 deductible. Now that we've hit the deductible we are getting some coverage-I don't really know what the percentage is as it seems to vary. Some prescriptions are $0 and others $150. It's the Kia plan I guess.

Not sure what you are trying to budget for. Are you wondering about premium increases? Losing the plan? Worst case scenario?

Not at all a troll. I'm sure the insurance companies are making some money off obamacare but it's got to be offset at least in part by the new mandates such as not being able to drop coverage, ending lifetime limits, etc. Whatever flaws are present, of which in sure there are several, it's absolutely a step in the right direction: helping everyone, rich or poor, have access to healthcare.

Ditto. No changes at all to my plan that I can see. Premium increase over last year was about the same as it's been every other year.

500/mo for my family, company pays about another $400 (not sure of the exact $). 3K deductible, then 80-20. I have already worked through my deductible.

HSA is available and employee funded (I contribute the max).

No changes except now my birth control is free! Thanks Obama.

Um, I am pretty sure you have bigger problems with that plan than it being a Cadillac plan. It violates rules for HSAs, as it has no deductible. You can't have a qualified HSA with less than a $1250/person, $2500/family. And before anyone goes all "Obamacare Sucks" on me, those rules date to passage of the Medicare Modernization Act in 2003, when Rs controlled the WH and Congress.
Perhaps you want to check again on just what your plan is and offers.
