We're renting a cabin in the woods close for a week of unplugged downtime this summer. Has anyone visited recently and have any kid-friendly suggestions for activities and eating out?
Thanks!! |

12 Bones and Tupelo Honey Cafe are my favorites. Gotta visit the Biltmore and go visit some waterfalls in Pisgah Natl
Forest. We also loved Chimney Rock. |
| Thanks PP! Will be sure to check 'em all out. |
| our family went last summer for a long weekend on our way further South. Awesome time. stayed at the Hotel Indigo. Rafted on the French Broad behind the Biltmore, went to Slippery Rock (a must), saw waterfalls, jumped off rocks into the rivers, downtown was lively and the food was great everywhere. |
| If you go to biltmore it is definitely worth the money to take the behind the scene tours. |
+1 on visiting the Biltmore Estate. It's a stunning house and a great history lesson for the kids regarding the Vanderbilt family and how they amassed their wealth building the railways The vineyards there are also great and if I remember correctly they have a children's "tasting" with different types of grape juice so they can "participate".

Awesome!!! Thank you. -The OP |
| My son loved Slippery Rock! He could have stayed all day. Google "waterfalls in the movie The Hunger Games" and visit some of them if you liked the movie. We saw Triple Falls and one other one nearby that we in the movie. |

Is slippery rock aka sliding rock?
