where is the best marshalls and/or TJ Maxx in the area?

I live in Bethesda but willing to go to VA. . .thanks for you input.

Tysons for both.

Avoid Friendship Hts at all costs. It is the nastiest TJ Maxx I've ever been to. Surprisingly low-end considering the neighborhood (some TJs get really high quality stuff, but not that one).

I do not think the TJMaxx in Tysons is worth the drive (and I live within 5 miles!) It's cramped and messy. The one really, really nice TJMaxx that I know of is in Fairfax; it's down the street from the Costco there (West Ox Road?). I've never seen a nicer TJMaxx. Too bad it's so far away (I only get there 2-3 times a year). There's a 5 Guys in the same strip mall in case you need a burger before you shop.

What about the one in Rockville?

I like TJ Maxx in Olney.

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I am a big fan of the Marshalls on 14th street in DC for Childrens clothes. Good selection, especially for my 3 year old son. Happy Shopping!!

I know!! It's awful. Candy from 1986, anyone?

The one good thing about it is, it always has high-end kitchen supplies (albeit, thrown in a pile practically on the floor). I've picked up knives there for $9 that retail for $80 a piece at Macy's, Bloomies, Sur La Table etc..

I second the TJ Maxx in Olney.

the TJ Maxx in Potomac yards is a nice one,as well as Tyson's. I do know that they send all of the good stuff to those two locations,

Again, please JOB SEARCH. If you are living with your mother you probably want to be out looking for work, not threads from 2009 on the topic of TJ Maxx.

People can't win around here...

1) They are told that they are stupid because they did not search for a thread that already existed to continue the conversation there.

2) They are told that they have no lives because they brought up an old thread.

I recently went to the Ross in 7 Corners in Falls Church and bought 9 dresses. I also went to the Marshalls and Ross in Baley's Crossroads and bought a bunch of nice things there too.

So true.....

And the Friendship Heights TJ Maxx still sucks.

I had very good luck at the Pentagon City Marshall's this past weekend - although I rarely go there b/c these types of stores tend to overwhelm me. But if you get a kick out of the hunt for bargains, it's a pretty good bet.
