I have three children ages 7 to 11. My husband and I have free tickets on an airline to use in the continental USA. They have to be booked very soon. We would like to go to an all inclusive resort (not Hawaii) which has things for the kids to do. We would like to do this in the summer months. I am clueless where to go and where to stay. I do want something more luxurious. I want to go to one place and not do a thing except relax. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think there are that many all-inclusives in the continental US (although there may be hotels that offer packages that include meals). That said, Florida is probably your best bet to find them - I'm pretty sure there is a Club Med somewhere in FLorida.

Why not use your tickets to go someplace that would otherwise be very expensive to fly to? I recommend Yellowstone National Park.
Your kids will love it as long as the parents like being in the outdoors. There is so much to do. For example, it costs at least $606.00 each to fly to bozeman, mt as compared to Los Angeles costs 325.00. There are quite a few airports around yellowstone you can fly into. Those were prices on NWA in July. Remember, there are two parks right there, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton National Park. Sure if your kids want Disneyland and don't want to go exploring, then this might not be the right place, but may be the only chance to have an affordable vacation to this part of the country. |

During my own vacation research, there are several major hotels with great Kids camps for ages 5-12. You might want to check out Four Seasons, Ritz and Hyatt hotels and see what locations may interest you. The kids camps are a great way to give you and your husband some time away to enjoy the vacation and have the kids in a supervised activity related to the location.

There are lots of family places around the country, many large hotels do have kids clubs. There are mid-west resorts that are great for family ACTITVITIES. There are not that many all-inclusive family resorts in the continental US. But there are nice ones in the carribbean. You could fly to Miami/Sounthern FL and get a very cheap airfare to some of the islands. I have still be getting good prices even last summer during the extreme gas prices.
I second the suggestion of Yellowstone National Park. I went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming and from there we drove to the Yellowstone National Park. Wyoming is absolutely gorgeous and the Summer is the perfect time to go. If you can afford it, I suggest you stay at the Four Seasons Jackson Hole, but there are also other really nice hotels in the area and there are lots of outdoor activities for kids.
